Overview

Website Leads lists submissions from the selected client's connected lead forms, newest first. Each lead is saved as a deal in the client's pipeline, and this page shows where it came from: the form, landing page and campaign. When the person gave an email, the lead is also linked to the client's contact for that email, or a new contact is added. Form posts that look automated are kept apart under Possible spam: they are still saved as deals, but they are not added to contacts, send no alert, do not count as leads and stay off the Deals board, the Search this client bar and Deal Reports. If one is a real person, mark it Not spam to move it to your leads. If a lead in your list is really a bot the checks missed, choose Mark as spam to move it to Possible spam. Leads marked Not spam also offer Retry contact and opt-in if saving the contact or original opt-in failed. Open a lead to update its deal or follow up. To collect leads on a website you already have, open Use this form on your own website at the bottom of the page and copy the code for one of your forms; those leads arrive here too. To capture the forms already on your own website, list its domains under Your website domains, then copy the one line of code shown there onto every page of the site; those leads arrive here too. Client Admins can save, preview and publish one lead-form draft per website page in Edit a lead form. Save draft keeps changes off the live site until Publish saved form is confirmed. Undo last publication restores the previous page content only while no newer page edits would be lost.

How to use this page

  1. Open the page

Choose Leads under Inbound in the sidebar, or select the website leads count on the Inbound overview, which opens the list at the matching date range. Employees pick a client in the sidebar first. The box at the top right shows how many leads arrived in the last 30 days, not counting possible spam.

  2. Request your first lead form

If your published SalesHive website has no lead form, select Draft a form request in the setup card. Review and edit the prefilled brief in New Project, then start the project when ready. The brief asks for a proposed form and placement before any website changes or publishing. Opening the draft does not start work or change your website. If the card tells you to ask an admin, ask an admin on your account to request the form.

  3. Narrow the list

Use the form menu to show one form, and pick 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or All time. The count beside the filters shows how many leads match. If nothing matches, select Clear filters.

  4. Read where a lead came from

Each row shows the date, the person's name, company and email, the contact the lead is saved as, the form and lead source, the landing page they first arrived on, the UTM campaign, and the deal's current stage. When the form asked extra questions, the person's answers appear under their name: the first 3, with long answers shortened. Select Show all answers to read them in full. Opted in to marketing email appears when the linked contact has current recorded consent for its current email address. It is hidden for possible spam. Hover a landing page to see its full address.

  5. Sort out spam

When some submissions look automated, a Possible spam button with their count appears beside the filters. Select it to see them, each with the reason it was flagged. If one is a real person, select Not spam under the name, then Yes, not spam. If a lead in your main list is spam, select Mark as spam under the name, then Yes, mark as spam. Select Back to website leads to return. If the message says the lead was marked not spam but its contact or opt-in could not be saved, retry in the open confirmation. After refreshing, find the lead in the main list, select Retry contact and opt-in, then Retry save.

  6. Follow up

Select a lead's name to open its deal, where you can work it like any other deal in the pipeline. Select Contact under the name to open the person's contact record instead.

  7. Choose the lead owner and alert recipients

As a Client Admin, open Lead alerts and ownership below the lead list. Under Who should own new website leads?, choose an active teammate with Deals access or leave Unassigned (default). Separately choose All eligible teammates (default) for alerts, or Selected teammates and at least one name. Select Save lead settings. The owner applies only to new leads not flagged as spam; existing leads, repeats and leads marked Not spam keep their current owner. Saving sends no alert. This panel is hidden in Possible spam.

  8. Choose a form to draft

As a Client Admin with Inbound and Deals access, open Edit a lead form below Lead alerts and ownership. Choose a website page, then an existing form or Add a form at the end of this page. Each page holds one saved draft. Changing the selected form asks for confirmation and starts the editor from that form; saving replaces the previous draft. The editor is hidden in Possible spam. If no pages are available, ask your SalesHive team to set up a website page first. Focus the dropdown and press Enter, Space or an arrow key to open it. Use Up and Down to move through choices, then Enter or Space to select. Home and End move to the first or last choice when an option has focus. If a search field appears, type to filter and press an arrow key to reach the choices. Escape closes without changing the selection and returns focus to the button. Tab closes and moves on. Reopening clears the search.

  9. Edit the draft and review its preview

Edit Heading, Introduction, Button text, Thank-you message and Form name. Under Visitor fields, keep Email required and choose Hidden, Optional or Required for Name, Phone, Company, Title, Company website and How can we help?. To ask only for an email, hide the other standard fields and remove any custom questions you do not need. Add up to 8 custom questions as Short answer, Long answer, Dropdown or Choose one. Give each a label and unique Question key, using lowercase letters, digits or underscores; keep the generated key if unsure. For choice questions, enter up to 20 choices, one per line. Check Required when needed, or use Remove question to remove it. Leave Marketing email opt-in text empty to omit the checkbox, or enter wording for an optional, initially unchecked box. The Preview shows content only and cannot submit; website styling applies when published.

  10. Save or reload your form draft

Resolve any Before saving messages, then select Save draft and wait for Draft saved. The saved version appears beside Reload saved draft. Saving leaves the website and embedded forms unchanged until you publish. If the save cannot be confirmed, copy any unsaved text you need, select Reload saved draft and check the saved version before editing or saving again. Reloading and switching pages ask before discarding unsaved edits. If the website page changed after the draft was saved, review the old draft, choose Start again from current page and confirm Start again. Review and edit the replacement, then save it.

  11. Publish the saved form

Review the preview and save any edits. Select Publish saved form, then confirm Publish form. The saved version replaces the selected form or adds it at the end of the page. The website and page must already be live, and the form name must be unique across the website. Wait for Form published before treating it as complete. If the result is unclear, use Reload saved draft and check the status before trying again.

  12. Undo the latest publication

Select Undo last publication, then confirm Undo publication to restore the page content from before that publication. Save or discard unsaved edits first. Undo is available only while the page has not changed since publication, so newer edits are protected. Your saved draft remains available. If it is now stale, follow Start again from current page before editing and publishing again.

  13. Put a form on your own website

Select Use this form on your own website at the bottom of the page to open it. It is already open when the client has no website leads yet and at least one form exists. Each lead form on your published SalesHive pages is listed by name. Select Copy code, then paste the code where the form should appear, for example in a WordPress Custom HTML block, a Webflow or Squarespace embed, or any page's HTML. Select Preview to open the form on its own in a new tab. If copying is blocked, the code is selected for you; press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C). Client Admins can change questions or wording in Edit a lead form, then save and publish. Published changes appear wherever that form is embedded. If you add or rename a form, refresh Website Leads to load its current code; after a rename, replace any embedded code that uses the old name.

  14. Capture the forms on your own website

Select Your website domains near the bottom of the page to open it. Type a domain your own website runs on, such as acme.com, and select Add. You can paste a full address; the www, https and page path are dropped for you, and subdomains like blog.acme.com are covered automatically. If the client has no domains yet and a website address is on file, the panel asks whether that address is your website, with an Add button for it. Select the X beside a domain to remove it. You can list up to 10. Once a domain is listed, select Copy code under Capture the forms on your website and paste that line once on every page of your site, for example in the site header or a WordPress or Webflow custom code setting. If copying is blocked, the code is selected for you; press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C). Send one of your own forms, then refresh Website Leads and reopen Your website domains. Under Forms received from your website, check the form name, website address and Latest received time to confirm it arrived.

What the buttons do

Inbound
Returns to the Inbound overview.
Draft a form request
Appears when your SalesHive website is published, none of its published pages has a lead form, and you can open projects. Opens an editable New Project brief for the selected client without starting it. The setup card can appear even if leads already exist.
All forms menu
Filters the list to one form. Each form shows how many leads it has captured.
7 days, 30 days, 90 days, All time
Limits the list to leads submitted in that window. All time is the default.
Lead name
Opens that lead's deal.
Contact: name
Appears under a lead that is saved as a contact. Opens that contact. If you cannot open Contacts, or on a small screen, it reads Saved as a contact instead.
Show all answers / Show fewer answers
Appears under a lead's answers when it answered more than 3 form questions or gave a long answer. Shows every answer in full, or goes back to the short view.
Opted in to marketing email
A label, not a button. Shows current recorded marketing email consent for the linked contact's current address. Hidden for possible spam, erased or trashed contacts, or consent that was later revoked. Hover it for a short explanation.
Possible spam (count)
Appears beside the filters when submissions were kept apart as possible spam. Opens the list of those submissions. When there are no real leads yet, the same link appears as a line of text instead.
Back to website leads
Appears in the possible spam view. Returns to your real leads.
Not spam
Appears on each lead in the possible spam view. Asks you to confirm before anything changes.
Yes, not spam
Moves the lead to your website leads, saves or links its contact when eligible, and recovers an original recorded form opt-in when it matches that contact. Cancel closes the question without changes.
Retry contact and opt-in / Retry save
Appears on leads marked Not spam, including after refresh. Opens a confirmation, then retries contact saving and recovery of the original opt-in. Its presence alone does not mean something failed. Cancel closes the question; nobody is alerted.
Mark as spam
Appears under each lead in your main list, including ones marked Not spam earlier. Asks you to confirm before anything changes.
Yes, mark as spam
Confirms: moves the lead to Possible spam. Its deal and any linked contact stay. Cancel closes the question without changes.
Dismiss
Closes the message that appears after you mark a lead Not spam or Mark as spam.
Clear filters
Appears when no leads match. Resets the form and date filters. In the possible spam view it keeps you in that view.

Save lead settings
Saves the default owner and alert recipients together for future submissions. Does not reassign existing leads, send an alert or change anyone's notification preferences.
Reload saved settings / Load settings
Loads the current saved choices and eligible teammates. Reload saved settings replaces unsaved choices; use it after another person changes the settings.
Edit a lead form / Open editor / Close editor
Visible only to Client Admins. Opens or closes the editor below Lead alerts and ownership to save, preview and publish one form draft per page. Hidden in Possible spam.
Page for form draft / Form to draft
Choose the website page, then an existing form or Add a form at the end of this page. The page list shows at most 200 pages by address. Changing forms asks for confirmation before resetting the editor.
Visitor fields: Hidden / Optional / Required
Hidden removes the field from the form. Optional shows it without requiring an answer. Required asks visitors to complete it. Email stays visible and required. The preview reflects your choices; save and publish to apply them to the live form.
Add question / Remove question / Required
Add up to 8 custom questions, remove a question, or mark one required. Dropdown and Choose one questions accept up to 20 choices, one per line.
Save draft
Saves valid edits to the selected page draft and shows its saved version. Does not publish or change any live form. Disabled until there are valid unsaved edits, or while a save, access conflict or stale page needs attention.
Publish saved form / Publish form
Publish saved form opens a confirmation; Publish form makes the saved draft live. Save valid edits first. Unpublished pages, stale drafts and unresolved conflicts prevent publishing. Cancel closes the confirmation without publishing.
Undo last publication / Undo publication
Opens a confirmation to restore the page content from before its latest form publication. Disabled for unsaved edits, unresolved conflicts or newer page changes. Keeps the saved draft. Cancel leaves the publication unchanged.
Reload saved draft / Load pages

Start again from current page
Appears when the website page changed after the draft was saved. After confirmation, resets the editor to the current page. Save draft replaces the old saved draft; the website stays unchanged.
Use this form on your own website
Appears at the bottom of the page when the client has a SalesHive website, except in the Possible spam view. Opens or closes the code for each form. Starts open when there are no leads yet and at least one form exists.
Preview
Opens that form on its own, as it appears when placed on another website, in a new tab.
Copies that form's code so you can paste it into your own website. It reads Copied for a moment once it works.
Your website domains
Appears below the other panels, except in the Possible spam view. Opens or closes your domains, capture code and received-form summary. Closed, it shows your first domain and how many more, or a prompt when the list is empty.
Add / Add (suggested domain)
Add saves the domain typed in the box. Add with a domain name appears only when the list is empty and the client's website address is on file, and adds that domain in one click.
X beside a domain
Removes that domain from the list right away.
Copy code (Capture the forms on your website)
Appears in Your website domains once at least one domain is listed and your SalesHive website is published. Copies the one line of code to paste on every page of your own website. It reads Copied for a moment once it works.
Forms received from your website
A summary, not a button. Appears inside Your website domains when at least one domain is listed. Groups captured submissions by website address and form name, showing Submissions received, Flagged as possible spam and Latest received in UTC, newest first.

Common questions

A submission through a lead form on your SalesHive website, a SalesHive form placed on your own website, or an existing form connected through the capture code. A calendar booking alone does not appear in this list. Deals created by hand or from outbound do not appear here either.
A form post that looks like it came from a bot rather than a person. A submission is flagged when it was sent without the page's own form, filled in faster than a person types, gave a company website that is not a web address, or left required fields empty. For a SalesHive hosted or embedded form, missing-field checks follow its published Visitor fields choices. Hidden or optional fields can be empty; email is always required. Existing forms keep their previous requirements until you publish a change. A form captured from your own website only needs an email, so it is not flagged for a missing name, company or message. Leads saved before these checks started are checked from what was saved: a website that is not a web address, or a missing name, email, company or message. It also holds any lead someone on your team chose Mark as spam, shown with the reason Marked as spam by your team. The row shows the reasons, and for newer flagged submissions the deal's notes say why. Everything here is still saved as a deal so nothing is lost, but it sends no alert, is left out of the lead counts and is hidden from the Deals board (select Show them there to see it), the Search this client bar and Deal Reports, unless its deal is in a won stage. Flagged submissions are not added to contacts, and your agent is told not to count them as leads or follow up on them.
After you confirm, the lead moves to your website leads with a Marked not spam label, keeps its submission date and counts as a lead again. It is saved as a contact from what the person typed, or linked to the contact you already have with that email. No contact is added when the lead has no email, or when that email or phone was removed or blocked earlier. If the original SalesHive form submission saved a ticked marketing email box and its wording, the opt-in can also be recorded for a matching contact. Its current owner stays unchanged; the default website lead owner is not applied. Nobody is alerted. If saving the contact or opt-in fails, the Not spam decision stays saved: retry in the confirmation, or refresh and choose Retry contact and opt-in on the lead, then Retry save.
After you confirm, the lead moves to Possible spam with the reason Marked as spam by your team and no longer counts as a lead, including in the 30-day count. That is the only change: its deal, notes and any linked contact stay as they are, and nobody is alerted. If the same person later sends a real submission, it starts a new lead instead of joining the marked one. To undo, open Possible spam and choose Not spam on that lead.
Yes, when they give an email and the submission is not flagged as possible spam, or once someone marks it Not spam. If you already have a contact with that email, the lead is linked to it and the contact is not changed. Otherwise a new contact is added from the form with the source website_form, and a blacklisted email or domain keeps its blacklist status. The contact is never added to a campaign or list and is never emailed. No contact is linked when there is no email, or when that contact was erased or is in the trash. Leads saved before this linking started show no contact until the person fills in a form again.
New and repeat submissions from SalesHive hosted forms, embedded forms and forms connected through capture code can send an in-app notification and email. By default, alerts go to all eligible active client teammates with Deals access. A Client Admin can limit recipients in Lead alerts and ownership. Choosing an owner does not automatically make that person an alert recipient. Each recipient's New Website Leads preferences in Settings, Notifications still apply. Alerts include the name, company, form, page and deal link, but no visitor message or form answers. Repeats use the saved lead details and open the existing deal. Possible spam sends no alert.
Lead alerts and ownership and Edit a lead form are visible only to Client Admins with Inbound and Deals access, and are hidden in Possible spam. Other teammates see a note to ask a Client Admin to manage alerts, new lead owners or editing and publishing forms. To save lead settings, choose an eligible owner or Unassigned, and at least one eligible name if using Selected teammates for alerts. If someone changed the settings, select Reload saved settings, review their changes, then choose and save again. If you switched clients, refresh the page first. Previously selected teammates who lose eligibility stop receiving alerts. If the saved owner is no longer eligible, new leads stay unassigned; choose a current teammate or save Unassigned to clear that setting.
Every website lead is saved as a deal, so the page needs Deals access as well as Inbound access. Ask an admin on your account to turn on Deals.
If they use the same email while their lead is still open (not won or lost) and they filled in a form in the last 90 days, the new submission joins that lead instead of creating a second deal. It stays one row: the date shows their newest submission, with the number of submissions underneath, while the form and landing page show their first. The new message and page are added to the deal's notes as a dated entry. A repeat never changes the lead's owner, name, phone, company or title; if they typed any of those differently, the new values appear in that notes entry, marked as not saved to the lead, so a rep can decide whether to update the deal. A submission after the lead is won or lost, or more than 90 days later, starts a new lead. A real submission never joins a lead whose only submissions were flagged as possible spam; it starts its own lead, so a bot that used someone's email cannot hide their real request. Once someone marks that lead Not spam, real repeats join it as usual. A lead someone chose Mark as spam never takes a real repeat; the new submission starts its own lead.
A form can ask up to 8 extra questions, such as a short answer, a longer answer, a dropdown or a set of choices. Client Admins can edit questions in Edit a lead form, save the draft, review the preview and confirm Publish saved form to change the live form. The answers show under the lead's name on this page, taken from the person's newest submission that answered any questions. They are also saved in the lead's deal notes under Answers, and a repeat submission adds its new answers to that dated notes entry. Only questions that are on the published form are kept, and a dropdown or choice answer is kept only when it is one of the listed choices.
The linked contact has current recorded marketing email consent for its current email address. The optional box starts unticked and appears only when wording has been added to the SalesHive form. Possible spam shows no opt-in label. Marking it Not spam can recover a saved original opt-in using the wording, email and date from that submission, even if the form later changes. Older submissions without that saved evidence, unticked boxes and existing forms connected through capture code cannot gain consent this way. The submitted email must match a live contact. Retries do not duplicate consent or override a later withdrawal. Changing the contact's email can hide the label; erased or trashed contacts do not show it. Consent does not add anyone to a campaign or list, send email, or override unsubscribes, suppression, the blacklist or send approvals.
Unknown means no landing page was recorded for that lead. None under Campaign (UTM) means the visit carried no UTM tags.
It is saved exactly like a lead from your SalesHive website: as a deal, linked to a contact when it has an email, with the same spam checks and alerts. Its landing page is the page on your own website where the form sits. If your site strips out the short script that comes with the code, the form still works, but the landing page shows the form's own SalesHive address instead.
The code only lists forms on your published SalesHive website pages. If the site is not published yet, or none of its published pages has a lead form, the section says so instead. For a published site with no form, use Draft a form request in the setup card above. If you cannot open projects, the card tells you to ask an admin on your account. The code section does not appear in the Possible spam view, or when the client has no SalesHive website set up.
It is the list of websites you own. Only pages on these domains (and their subdomains) can send leads through the capture code, and adding a domain does not change your website. A domain is refused when it is an IP address or localhost, has no ending (acme rather than acme.com), uses a * (leave it out; subdomains are already covered), is a saleshive.com address (your SalesHive website already sends leads here), or is a shared host such as webflow.io or wordpress.com on its own. For a shared host, add your own address on it, for example acme.webflow.io. The message under the box says which rule applied. You can list up to 10 domains; remove one to add another.
Once the code is on a page, any form a visitor sends that has an email address arrives here as a lead. The form still works exactly as before. Sign in, password reset, checkout, cart and search forms are skipped whole, and so is any form with a password box or a card, bank or social security number field. Hidden fields and files are never read. The lead's form name is the form's own name or id, or the page title, and its lead source reads Website form on followed by your domain. Fields other than name, email, phone, company and message show as answers under the lead's name (up to 8). To skip one form, add data-saleshive-capture="off" to it. If the panel says your SalesHive website needs to be published, the code appears once it is.
Forms received from your website counts up to the newest 200 captured submissions from the last 30 days, regardless of the form and date filters above. Repeat submissions count separately even when they join one deal, and possible spam is included. The spam count reflects the original flag on each submission, so marking a lead Not spam later does not change it. This summary covers forms captured by the code on your own website, not SalesHive hosted or embedded forms. Older submissions saved before receipt tracking began are not included.
Make sure its domain is listed and the capture code is on the page, then send an eligible form with an email address. Refresh Website Leads and reopen Your website domains. The summary updates when the page reloads. If captured forms have reached their separate hourly limit, additional submissions are not saved and do not appear in this summary. An empty summary means no recorded captured submissions were found within its 30-day window and 200-submission limit. If it says Could not load received forms, refresh to retry; that message does not mean nothing arrived.
SalesHive forms share one limit of 20 saved submissions per client over the previous hour, including SalesHive forms embedded on your own website. Existing forms connected through the capture code have a separate limit of 20 over the previous hour, shared across that client's captured forms and domains. New, repeat and possible spam submissions count toward their own limit. Reaching one limit does not use up the other. Further submissions of that type are not saved in SalesHive until capacity becomes available as earlier submissions pass out of the one-hour window. The capture code does not stop your original form from working.
The page shows the newest 200 leads that match your filters and counts up to the newest 1,000 website leads. Older leads are still in Deals.
You can mark a possible spam lead Not spam or move a lead to Possible spam with Mark as spam. On a lead marked Not spam, Retry contact and opt-in lets you finish a failed save. Open the lead's deal to update its stage or details. This page has no lead deletion control. You can also add or remove website domains in Your website domains; that changes which websites can send captured forms, not the leads already saved.
No. Save draft stores one draft for the selected page without changing the live website, embedded forms or capture code. Review the preview, select Publish saved form and confirm Publish form to make it live. Both the website and selected page must already be published. The editor preview cannot submit a lead. Draft a form request is a separate action that opens a proposed project brief.
You need Client Admin permission and access to both Inbound and Deals. Make an edit and resolve the Before saving messages; Heading, Button text and Form name are required. Use plain text without HTML. If someone changed the page or draft, access changed, or a save could not be confirmed, use Reload saved draft and review what saved before trying again. Editing and saving stay disabled until recovery. A draft based on an older website page requires Start again from current page. If you switched clients, refresh the page first.
Save valid edits first. Publishing needs a saved draft based on the current page, with both the page and website live. Ask your SalesHive team to publish the page first if needed. Every form needs a unique name across the website, including unpublished pages. The same published draft cannot be published again, and a draft that already matches the page makes no change. Undo is unavailable after newer page edits. If the page or draft changed, or a response could not be confirmed, select Reload saved draft and check the publication status before retrying. Refresh the page if you switched clients.
Undo restores the page content from before the latest form publication and keeps the saved draft. It refuses if the page changed afterward or restoring it would duplicate a form name elsewhere on the website. The editor shows Last publication undone. If the saved draft is now based on an older page, use Start again from current page, review your changes and save again before publishing.
