Overview

Get set up is the first-run checklist for a new self-serve SalesHive workspace. It lists the steps in the order most teams work: start your plan, import contacts, connect a mailbox, check your sending domain (only when your mailbox uses a company domain), add your mailing address, set your email signature, connect your calendar, create a booking link, launch your first campaign, create your first deal and, optionally, invite a teammate. Each step checks itself off from what is already in your workspace, so there is nothing to tick by hand. A progress bar and a count at the top show how many required steps are done; inviting a teammate is marked Optional and does not count, so a team of one can finish. The page only exists for self-serve workspaces; managed and Platform Only clients do not see it.

How to use this page

  1. Open the checklist

In the sidebar, open Onboarding and click Get set up. Clicking the Onboarding folder itself also opens this page. Once the plan is running, workspace members also land here after signing in until every required step is done. Admins of a running plan see a Continue setup card on Plan and billing too.

  2. Work through the steps

Each step shows a number, a title and one line on what to do or what is already there. The next open required step is outlined and its button is highlighted. Click the button to go to the page where you finish that step, then come back to see it checked off.

  3. Start your plan

Click Start your plan to pick your seats and add a card in Stripe Checkout on Plan and billing. It counts as done once your plan is in a free trial, active or past due.

  4. Import contacts and connect a mailbox

Import contacts opens Contacts with the CSV import already open, so you can pick your file and map the columns before anything is saved. Once you have contacts, View contacts opens the plain Contacts page. Connect a mailbox opens Email Accounts so you can connect Google or Microsoft 365 and send from your own address.

  5. Check your sending domain

This step appears after Connect a mailbox when a connected mailbox sends from your company domain, such as you@yourcompany.com. Each domain shows Ready to send or Records missing, with a pass or fail mark for MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC. For each missing record, the step lists the type, host and, when it is a standard value, the value to add for Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. For DKIM and some MX records it tells you which admin page generates the value. Add the records where you manage your domain, then click Check again. A domain that was never checked is checked once when the page opens.

  6. Add your mailing address

Click Add mailing address to open Plan and billing with the Mailing address on your emails editor already open. Fill in the address, then click Save. Campaigns wait to send until it is saved. Once done, the button reads View mailing address. Only workspace admins can do this step.

  7. Set your email signature

Click Set your signature to open Signatures. Pick one of the default signatures or write a custom one, then click Save Signature. Until you do, your emails sign off with only your name, so add your title, company and website so people know who is writing. The step checks off once your workspace has its own saved signature or a default you picked. Once done, the button reads Edit signature.

  8. Connect your calendar and create a booking link

Click Connect your calendar to open Scheduling, then connect Google or Microsoft 365 so booked meetings land on your calendar and only your open times are offered. If the connection lapses, the button reads Reconnect calendar. Next, click Create a booking link. It opens the same page scrolled to the Your booking links card, where you click Add New Calendar Link, pick a meeting length and the hours you take meetings, and save. Both steps come before your first campaign so its emails can carry the link. Once done, the buttons read Manage calendar and Manage booking links.

  9. Launch your first campaign

Click Create a campaign to open Campaigns. Create a campaign, add the contacts you want to reach, write your emails and launch it. A new campaign starts paused, so creating one does not check this step off; it counts once the campaign is running, finished or has sent an email. Once done, the button reads Open campaigns.

  10. Create your first deal

Click Create a deal to open your pipeline with the new deal form already open, then enter the deal name and click Create. Once you have a deal, Open pipeline opens the pipeline as usual. When every required step is done, the page title changes to Your workspace is ready.

  11. Invite a teammate (optional)

If others sell with you, click Add a teammate to open Users; each person uses one seat. This step shows done once someone joins, but it is optional and never holds up setup. For how roles and seats work, choose Teammates and seats under Get help.

What the buttons do

Progress bar and done count
Shows how many required steps are done, for example 2 of 9 done, or 2 of 10 when the sending domain step is shown. The optional teammate step is not counted.
Optional tag
Marks Invite a teammate. Optional steps show done or open but do not count toward setup being complete.
Get help
Next to Stuck on a step or have a question? under the progress bar. Opens a short menu: How billing works opens the billing explanation on Plan and billing, How sending works opens the "How campaign sending works" article right here, Teammates and seats opens the "Teammates, roles and seats" article on Plan and billing, Getting started opens the "Getting started and moving from HubSpot" article right here, and Ask our team opens the feedback form so you can send a question. Replies show under My feedback. SalesHive staff see a Staff view note here instead.
Moving from HubSpot
Beside Get help under the progress bar. Opens a side panel with the "Getting started and moving from HubSpot" article: what each setup step is for, then how to move from HubSpot in order (export contacts and deals as CSV, import contacts first, set up your deal stages, then import deals with their companies), plus your calendar, booking links and inbox. Use the links at the top of the panel to jump to a topic, and Close or Escape to close it. Getting started in Get help on other pages brings you here with it open. Every member of the workspace can open it.
How sending works
Beside Moving from HubSpot under the progress bar. Opens a side panel with the "How campaign sending works" article: how many emails each mailbox can send a day and how that limit grows, the DNS records your domain needs, address checks before a first email, pauses for bounces and unsubscribes, your mailing address and unsubscribes. Use the links at the top of the panel to jump to a topic, and Close or Escape to close it. Every member of the workspace can open it.
Start your plan / Open Plan and billing
Goes to Plan and billing to start the plan, or to manage seats, invoices and payment once it is running. Admins only.
Import contacts / View contacts
Import contacts opens Contacts with the CSV import dialog already open. View contacts opens Contacts to see the people already in your workspace.
Connect a mailbox / Reconnect mailbox / Manage mailboxes
Goes to Email Accounts. Reconnect mailbox shows when your only mailbox needs signing in again.
Check again
Inside the Check your sending domain step. Checks your mailbox domains' DNS records again and refreshes the results. A failing domain is rechecked at most every couple of minutes and a passing one at most once a week, so a quick second click may say there is nothing new yet. It only reads DNS and never changes your records.
Add mailing address / View mailing address
Goes to Plan and billing, scrolled to the Mailing address on your emails card. For an admin, the address editor opens once on arrival. Admins only.
Set your signature / Edit signature
Goes to Signatures, where you pick a default signature or write your own and save it.
Connect your calendar / Reconnect calendar / Manage calendar
Goes to Scheduling, where you connect Google or Microsoft 365. Reconnect calendar shows when the calendar was disconnected and needs signing in again.
Create a booking link / Manage booking links
Goes to Scheduling, scrolled to the Your booking links card, where you create, edit and copy booking links.
Create a campaign / Open campaigns
Goes to Campaigns, where you create, fill and launch outbound email campaigns.
Create a deal / Open pipeline
Create a deal opens your pipeline with the new deal form already open. Open pipeline goes to the pipeline to work your opportunities.
Add a teammate / Manage users
Goes to Users to add the people who sell with you. Admins only.

Common questions

No. Each step checks itself off as soon as your workspace shows it, for example once you have at least one contact or one deal.
Steps reflect your workspace right now. If the work is undone, such as your only mailbox disconnecting or your only launched campaign being archived, that step opens again until you fix it.
Starting the plan, adding the mailing address and inviting teammates are admin tasks. Members who are not admins see that note instead of a button.
Yes. Invite a teammate is optional and is left out of the count, so setup is complete once every other step is done.
For a quick answer, open the ? help button and click Ask about this page; while your plan is running it can also answer plan, billing, credit, sending, teammate, role, setup and HubSpot import questions, but it cannot make changes for you. To read the help articles, click Moving from HubSpot for setup and importing, or How sending works for daily limits, DNS records or paused mailboxes. Otherwise click Get help under the progress bar and choose Ask our team. The feedback form opens; describe what you are trying to do and click Send feedback. Our team is alerted and replies under My feedback. Every member of the workspace can use it.
Click Moving from HubSpot under the progress bar. In short: export your contacts and deals from HubSpot as CSV files, import the contacts first, set up your deal stages, then import the deals. Companies come in with your deals, so there is no separate company file. HubSpot tasks, calls, email history, workflows and sequences do not come over; a Notes column imports into notes, and you rebuild sequences as campaigns.
New campaigns start paused. The step checks off once a campaign that is not archived is running or finished, or once any of your campaigns has sent an email.
Anti-spam law requires a postal address on every campaign email, and your emails only ever show your own address. Until one is saved, your campaigns keep their status but wait to send. Once an admin saves the address, they send again on their own.
It shows only when a connected mailbox sends from your company domain. Mailboxes on public addresses such as gmail.com do not get this step, because the provider manages that DNS. When it shows, campaigns from a domain missing MX, SPF, DKIM or DMARC wait to send until the records are added. New records can take from a few minutes to a few hours to show up, so click Check again later if the first check still fails.
When you sign in without a specific link, you go to Plan and billing while the plan is not running, to this checklist while any required step is open, and to Contacts once they are all done. A link to a specific page still takes you there.
Plan: a free trial, active or past due plan. Contacts: at least one contact that is not in the trash. Mailbox: at least one active mailbox with a working connection. Sending domain: every company domain your connected mailboxes send from passes MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Mailing address: a complete address saved on Plan and billing. Signature: your own saved signature, or a default signature you picked and saved on Signatures. Calendar: at least one active member with a working Google or Microsoft 365 calendar connection. Booking link: at least one active booking link owned by an active member. Campaign: at least one campaign, not archived, that is running, finished or has sent an email. Deal: at least one deal in your own pipeline. Teammate (optional): at least one active member besides the first.
It is only for self-serve workspaces. Managed and Platform Only clients work with their SalesHive team instead.
Get set up and Users. The Deal Room link appears only while SalesHive has a managed service proposal open for your workspace. Managed onboarding pages such as Playmaker, Playbook, Documents and Google Drive are not used, and opening one brings you back here.
No. They open once when you arrive from this checklist. Refreshing the page or going Back does not reopen them.
This step does not block launching. Until you save a signature, each email signs off with only the sender's name, taken from the mailbox's display name on Email Accounts. SalesHive never signs your emails with one of its own default signatures unless you pick it.
