Overview

Newsletter audience lets you prepare a private newsletter for the selected client and review who qualifies to receive it. Write and preview a plain-text message, save an audience snapshot, then approve that exact saved revision. Sending is not available yet.

How to use this page

  1. Open newsletter drafts and audience

Select the client, open Inbound and choose Preview newsletter audience above the overview. You need Client Admin access, or authorized internal admin access, plus access to Inbound, Contacts and Deals. Draft your newsletter appears above the audience preview.

  2. Write and save a private draft

Choose New draft, or use Saved newsletter drafts to open an existing message. Enter Subject (up to 200 characters) and Message (up to 20,000 characters). The message is plain text with line breaks preserved; review it in Message preview. Select Save private draft and wait for confirmation before switching drafts or leaving. A new draft is not saved until you do this.

  3. Review and approve the saved revision

Compare the eligible addresses saved with the number that qualify at the latest check. Show website leads separately in audience counts changes the count breakdown, not which eligible contacts are included. If the audience changed, save again to refresh its snapshot. When the subject, message and audience are ready, select Approve saved revision. Approval requires saved, unchanged text and at least one eligible recipient. Every save requires approval again. Approval sends no email.

  4. Recover a changed or uncertain save

If saving or approval pauses, copy any unsaved text you want to keep, then choose Reload saved draft. Reload replaces the editor with the saved version when one exists. Review that version and its audience before saving or approving again. If private drafts could not load, refresh the page.

  5. Check the eligible count

Read the number of unique email addresses that qualify and the number of contact records checked. Each eligible contact needs current marketing opt-in for its current email address, deliverable email status and no applicable unsubscribe, delivery, blacklist or spam block.

  6. Review exclusion reasons

Read Why contacts are excluded. Reasons cover trashed or erased contacts, missing or invalid email, unsubscribes, delivery blocks or email not marked deliverable, blocked addresses or domains, possible spam, missing current opt-in and duplicate eligible addresses. Each excluded contact counts once, under its first matching reason. Eligible duplicates count only once in the audience.

  7. Start with opt-in when the audience is empty

If No eligible subscribers yet appears, choose Review website forms to open Leads. Add an optional marketing opt-in to the website form. Form submission or contact import alone does not establish consent. Delivery and exclusion checks still apply.

  8. Refresh the snapshot

Read the Checked time in UTC, then choose Refresh audience to run the check again after consent, addresses or delivery status change. Choose Back to Inbound to return. If the complete audience cannot be checked, use Try again. Ask your SalesHive team for help if the error continues.

Common questions

No. You can save and approve a private draft, but this page cannot send or schedule it. Approval records only the saved message and audience revision; it sends no email.
The audience counts unique eligible email addresses. Contact records may be excluded by consent, delivery, unsubscribe, blacklist or spam checks, and eligible duplicates count once.
No. The contact needs current marketing opt-in for its current email address. An old opt-in for a different address does not qualify it.
No. This preview displays totals, exclusion counts and the time checked, without recipient names or email addresses.
Select an accessible client. The preview requires Client Admin access, or authorized internal admin access, plus access to Inbound, Contacts and Deals. Other client roles do not qualify just because they can view contacts.
Every save clears the previous approval. Unsaved edits must be saved first, and a changed audience needs a refreshed snapshot and another review. Approval applies only to the exact saved text and audience.
